Advisers for the Arabic as a Foreign Language Program

The Arabic as a Foreign Language Program advisers have extensive experience in Arabic and foreign language education. The linguistic revisions and advisory work for the program were carried out by Mrs. Amal Mousa, a seasoned Arabic language educator with 45 years of teaching experience. The educational strategies and overall program advisories were overseen by Mrs. Fidaa Issa, an expert in teaching foreign languages to non-native speakers.

1. Amal Mousa

Background:

  • Taught Arabic and Music in several public schools in Homs, Syria (1961-1965).
  • Taught Arabic in several institutes, public and private schools in Damascus, Syria (1965-2003).
  • Evaluator of Arabic literature textbooks and curricula for secondary schools, Ministry of Education, Damascus, Syria (1980-1993).
  • Prepared and presented lessons for Arabic educational programs on Syrian National TV (1972-1993).
  • Contributed to the Teachers’ Association Symposiums, Ministry of Education, and participated in educational symposiums on Syrian National TV (1975-1995).
  • Authored several articles on Arabic language issues in Teachers’ Voice Magazine (1975-1995).
  • Evaluated Arabic language curricula for secondary schools, Ministry of Education, Damascus, Syria (1980-1985).
  • Conducted Arabic language night courses at teachers’ associations and private schools, Damascus, Syria.
